Three Insane Weight Loss Programs to Never Try

By

It's no secret that people are willing to go to extreme lengths to shed pounds. From emaciating cleanses and diets to military-style boot camps, people practically torture themselves to get the body they want. Sometimes, things cross over from extreme to just plain crazy. Here are some of the strangest weight loss programs people have tried.
The Tapeworm Diet
Tapeworms are parasitic creatures that attach themselves to the intestinal tract of certain mammals, including humans. Once inside the digestive system, tapeworms divert nutrients from the body into their own system, robbing the host of food midway through its transformation into useful energy. By out-competing the body for nutrients, it has the effect of prolonged fasting but the host doesn't ever stop eating. This can lead to extreme, dangerous weight loss. Using worm egg pills, which are illegal in the United States, people can literally infest themselves. While it is completely disgusting, it does work as a weight loss program... a little too well. In one reported case, a woman lost 60 pounds before the worm laid eggs. The eggs burrowed into her intestinal wall and then into her circulatory system, infecting her bloodstream and causing death.
The Cotton Ball Diet
For many people, their willpower to avoid eating is overcome by the hollow growl of an empty stomach. The cotton ball diet is one of a handful of weight loss programs that purport to fill the stomach without introducing any calories into the digestive system. Cotton balls are dipped in liquids like juice and swallowed, essentially tricking the stomach into satiation. The diet has repeatedly been condemned by health professionals who warn that ingesting even small quantities of cotton can cause intestinal blockage and dehydration, which can lead to nutrition deficiency. People have also been known to choke on the cotton. Worse still, many 'cotton balls' available at stores today are made of synthetic material that the body cannot digest without great effort.
Smoking Cigarettes
As unhealthy as smoking is, it's a common pound-shedding method. Nicotine is a natural appetite suppressant, and even pre-Columbian Amerindians were aware of this quality. Long-distance messengers in both North and South America were known to carry plugs of tobacco to hold them over on treks over hundreds of miles with little or no food. Today, many smokers note that one of the hardest parts about quitting is the weight gain that comes with cessation. While it may be one of the more effective weight loss programs, it is extremely unhealthy. Any health benefits of avoiding obesity are canceled out completely by the negative health effects of smoking. Those quitting smoking should maintain a healthy diet and implement an exercise regimen, both to keep extra pounds off and to reverse the negative cardiovascular effects of smoking.

Are Nurse Practitioners Just As Trustworthy As Doctors?

There are approximately 200,000 licensed Nurse Practitioners ("NP") in the United States, making it likely that you will run into one at some point. Contrary to popular belief, for the average person's normal needs, NPs may be just as helpful as regular doctors, and are often easier to schedule an appointment with.
Are Nurse Practitioners Trustworthy?
Like medical doctors, Nurse Practitioners are trained in all areas of primary care, including diagnosis, treatment, prevention, health education, medication prescription, and medication management. They have completed registered nursing school as well as graduate-level or doctoral-level educations that include didactic and clinical coursework, and are licensed to diagnose and treat patients without supervision from a medical physician. Their Master's programs may take up to three years while their Doctorate programs can take up to six years. You may find them working in a private practice, a school, a nursing home, in the emergency room, or in public health departments. Over 50% work in family or adult practices, but others also specialize in gerontology, neonatology, oncology, pediatrics, psychiatric-mental health, women's health, and acute care. Every two years they are required to show proof of continuing medical education to renew their license to practice in all 50 states. They also work collaboratively with medical physicians, especially if faced with a new or unfamiliar situation.
The American Association of Nurse Practitioners recently published a study summarizing evidence that compared patients under NP care with those under the care of regular physicians. The study found that patients under NPs had higher satisfaction, fewer readmissions to the hospital or visits to the emergency room, and higher rates of avoiding unnecessary hospitalizations. Additionally, they may also be a more cost-effective alternative to doctors, due in large part to lower educational costs - approximately 25% that of medical school.
What Are The Benefits Of Seeing A Nurse Practitioner Instead Of A Doctor?
NPs provide almost all of the services that doctors provide, such as:
- Examining and diagnosing patients
- Treating short-term issues and prescribing medications or other treatments
- Treating long-term issues like diabetes or high blood pressure
- Providing healthy lifestyle counseling and education on disease prevention
- Managing consistent, overall care for patients (like primary care physicians)
In addition, NPs tend to focus more on preventative care, as they may often be less busy with appointments than regular physicians and have more time to listen and discuss preventative issues such as quitting smoking, maintaining a healthy diet, and keeping regular exercise habits. Depending on where you live, they may also be more readily available than a primary care physician, especially if you are not located in an urban metropolis. The United States has a shortage of primary care providers, so the convenience of scheduling with a Nurse Practitioner may be crucial if you have a pressing need to be seen by a healthcare professional.
Of course, whether you choose an NP or a medical physician, you should be mindful of their communication style and the natural rapport you develop with them. Always follow your intuition about whether or not you trust that person with your healthcare.

Ownership Economics and Collateralizing Future Earnings

In order to stand a snowball's chance in this brave, new, globalized, Trumped-up economy, here's something that millennials need to know and understand. For all practical purposes, ALL THE DISCRETIONARY WEALTH IS BEING GENERATED ON THE OWNERSHIP SIDE OF THE ECONOMY!

That's right. There are two ways in which to generate income. You can work for it in order to earn a wage or a salary. Or you can own wealth producing capital assets such as stocks, bonds, real estate, machinery, copyrights, or patents, etc. Owners of such wealth producing capital assets collect dividends (i.e. generate an income) strictly by virtue of their ownership.
That's why best-selling author and motivational speaker Robert Kiyosaki says "A job is a short term solution to a long term problem." The long term solution to the long term problem of course is capital ownership because for all practical purposes ALL THE DISCRETIONARY WEALTH IS BEING GENERATED ON THE OWNERSHIP SIDE OF THE ECONOMY - NOT ON THE JOBS/LABOR SIDE. The jobs/labor side of the economy has stagnated for over three decades now, while the ownership side has expanded exponentially during the same time period.
So What Can Millennials Do?
So what can millennials do with this insightful piece of knowledge? For starters, in the wake of graduation, as they make their way into the brave, new, 21st century economy, they can look for companies that are owned by employees (including worker owned co-ops and ESOPS) and submit their resumes and applications.
Collateralizing Future Earnings
You see, companies that are employee owned (ESOPs which is short for Employee Stock Ownership Plans) are organized in such a way that employees who prove their worth are rewarded with opportunities to buy stock in the company they work for using FUTURE EARNINGS OF THE COMPANY (as opposed to their own savings, which minimizes personal risk) AS COLLATERAL. In investment circles this strategy would be called a Leveraged Buy Out (an LBO).
THIS UNIQUE FORM OF CAPITAL CREDIT FINANCING IS ACCESSIBLE ONLY TO EMPLOYEES WORKING FOR COMPANIES OFFERING AN ESOP OPTION. More specifically, it's not available in employee owned co-ops, which is the next best option. And it has NOTHING TO DO with a company offering employee stock options which is not only highly speculative, but 100% dependent on conventionally collateralized financing possibilities.
   Two Income Streams
So, without dipping into savings or jeopardizing the family home, ESOP employees develop TWO STREAMS OF INCOME. One from their wage or salary, and the other from their stock based dividends. The first is actively generated through the employee's own time and effort. The second is passive or residual income that's generated by virtue of their ownership.
Suddenly you see employees/workers who are benefitting from both the job/labor and the ownership side of the economy - which, as we've said before, is where ALL THE DISCRETIONARY WEALTH IS BEING GENERATED in the 21st century economy.
What Else Can Millennials Do?
So what else can millennials do in this regard? They can support political candidates who advocate employee ownership as a business model. For example, Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont has sponsored two bills in the US Senate that are specifically designed to encourage employee ownership practices. The first (S.2909) "Provides programs designed to encourage employee ownership and participation in business decision making throughout the US." The second (S.2914) "Creates a US Employee Ownership Bank" which is designed to be friendly to the idea of using future earnings as collateral in the stock ownership transaction.
The more millennials know about the power of ownership, the better their odds become of participating on the ownership side of the economy, where as we've said before, all the discretionary wealth is being generated. In the process the malignant wealth gap that's so threatening to American democracy can be reversed. Corporate plantations that are built on hierarchy and on the backs of modern wage slaves can be democratized. And the odds of millennials surviving, even thriving in the 21st century economy will be maximized.
P.S. By the way, since this strategy is built on a foundation of private (not public) ownership, it is a capitalistic solution to our problems, not a socialistic solution.

Are Affordable New Pickup Trucks A Thing Of The Past?

In the mid 80's my Dad bought his very first brand new truck, a 1985 Chevrolet C10, black pickup which I thought was the sharpest vehicle I had ever driven. He paid just under $7,500 for it. It was a ½ ton truck equipped with an 8 cylinder engine, automatic transmission and 8 foot box with power steering. I was happy with just the AM/FM radio. GPS, USB ports, CD player or anything of the sort weren't even a thought then. Now that auto manufacturers have added decades worth of new technology and creature comforts, have the prices come to a point where they are not all that affordable?

Has the addition of all these new items jacked the price of your average pickup to a level that is creating a bigger interest in used trucks, as opposed to brand new? Leasing has always been a strong incentive to having a new pickup instead of a used one while some dealerships offer rebates and other marketing tools to lure truck lovers into that bright shiny new one with lots of bells and whistles. Advertisements on TV display gorgeous brand new pickups using their looks, power and suggestion that it is the best truck on the market so that you will buy it. The price they show is usually a base price, which can be deceptive, when in reality it's very pricey after just a couple of add-on packages.
As a consumer, one would question whether your pickup really needs the extra creature comforts that drive the price higher than it needs to be. Folks who can afford all of the newest and best options are always going to shop with their eyes before their wallets. You can't have champagne taste with a beer income, so where does that leave the average consumer? It is best to have a plan for the things you cannot live without and reconsider packages that offer lots of new tech features you don't need. When did we forget how to use rear view windows and mirrors that we now need all of these sensors and navigation devices to make sure we don't back into something? Most cell phones have GPS systems on them, so is it really needed in your truck as well?
Certain things that definitely affect the price of a new truck are custom finishes (pearls tri color, heavy metallic, etc), special trim packages, custom interior appointments, leather power seating and wrapped steering wheels, and a center console. Most trucks are equipped standard with A/C, power windows, cruise control AM/FM, Multi CD/DVD changer/players, and Satellite Radio. Four wheel drive shift on the fly is now available for those that need it as a standard offering. If you add available in-stock options (at most dealers now) including GPS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi connections, overhead display, moon roof, oversize wheels, custom tires, towing options, and off-road packages, you will pay more, but not as much as special ordering something not in stock at the dealership.
If you get custom built-in tool storage, power tail gates and more, multiple additions of things you may not use often or even need will add to the price as well. As an alternative option, you can always add aftermarket parts later and keep the sale price down. That way you can personalize your pickup the way you want it, a little at a time without the payment skyrocketing. Competition between manufacturers also plays heavy in vehicle cost, with each company attempting to out-do the other in price with model performance and MPG claims. Some buyers are equally as competitive and will be tempted to be the first one on the block to have a bigger, better, faster, harder working, and sharpest truck, but you will pay handsomely for it.
It is interesting to note that the average median household income in 1985 was $23,620, so the price for a brand new truck being $7500.00 may have seemed like a lot, considering it was roughly 32% of a man's income. Yet the average income today is $53, 657, and the average basic no-frills truck costs $28-30,000. If you do the math, we are spending way more than we did 3 decades ago without our incomes doubling. Of course manufacturing prices have gone up but you can see where I am going with these figures. Don't overbuy or spend money that isn't necessary to get yourself a nice pickup truck, unless of course, money is no object. Few of us can claim that.
If you are willing to wait a bit instead of having the dealership overcharge for your wish list of pickup toys, browse some nice truck add-on items at http://www.truckworldaccessories.com and spend less in the long run. You can have the truck of your dreams and it will be more affordable, so in my book, that's a win-win situation.
I am a NYS licensed Auto Damage Appraiser, CSE certified, I-Car Certified, and have worked in the automotive industry for decades. I've had the opportunity to teach auto body repair to misled kids in a classroom setting, giving them a chance to have a trade for a viable income. I found this very rewarding. Previously, I was all about the American muscle cars of the 60's. Now, I find pickup trucks and the way they have evolved to be my fascination and focus. I truly enjoy hearing from fellow pickup truck enthusiasts, so stop in to http://www.truckworldaccessories.com and leave a comment on my website or any of my truck blogs or articles.

Unlike Last Season, Early Schedule Will Challenge Cubs In 2017

By

The celebration has ended, the 108 year drought is over, and baseball on Chicago's North Side should return to normal. In other words, fans of the Cubs can go back to worrying.
Several big concerns face them as they look toward the 2017 season, in addition to the nearly impossible task of topping the World Series Championship they earned in October. No team has won the Fall Classic back to back in this century, although a much shorter span than the Cubs endured between titles.
That trip to the World Series was made easier by the early schedule, an arrangement the Cubs will not enjoy next April. Chicago did not play a winning team until April 18 against the Cardinals, which was their fifth series of the season. The Cubs did not play another winning team until May 2, when they played the Pirates.
Spending the first month against the likes of Cincinnati, Arizona, Atlanta, and Milwaukee would provide nearly any team with the confidence needed to carry them through the most important stretch of the season. To emphasize just how important a hot start is, examine the National League from last season.
All four of the teams who reached the Division Series posted winning percentages over.700 during the first week of 2016, led by the Cubs and Nationals winning eight of their first nine games. The Giants were victorious in six of their first eight, and the Dodgers won seven of their first ten.
The advantage of opening against non-contenders will not be available to the Cubs in 2017, when the early part of their schedule features matchups against the only two teams that had winning records against Chicago last year. They open in St. Louis on April 2nd, a Sunday night game between the two rivals that will be broadcast on national television.
What could make that initial series even more troubling for the Cubs is the strong possibility that one of their most exciting players from last year will be playing for the opposing team. Center fielder Dexter Fowler, Chicago's spark plug at the top of the batting order, is a free agent. Many baseball writers have projected St. Louis as the most likely team to sign Fowler.
After the series in St. Louis, the Cubs must play the team that nearly eliminated them in the NLCS. The Dodgers, who won both of their regular season series against the Cubs in 2016, have the opportunity to avenge their playoff loss on the opening weekend in April.
The hot start Chicago used to build momentum for their World Series run last year is far less likely to befall them in 2017, simply because of the competition. Instead of opening against last place clubs like San Diego and Cincinnati, the Cubs will be tested right out of the chute by teams expecting to be contenders.

Improving the Lives of Patients With Alzheimer's Care

By

Symptoms of Alzheimer's manifest themselves differently depending on the individual, but the amount of attention and care needed always increases as the condition advances. Planning ahead and crafting a tailored plan with a healthcare professional can make it possible to provide patients with quality care while ensuring flexibility for future needs. In-home Alzheimer's care is often the preferred option because it offers the patient a familiar environment while keeping them close to their family members.
Understanding the Needs of Alzheimer's Patients
It is important first to understand the needs of a senior with Alzheimer's before creating a plan. Needs can vary depending on the severity of their condition. Patients with mild cases may forget events or names of familiar people. They also tend to lose the ability to plan and organize properly. When the condition becomes moderate, confusion and memory loss become apparent. They may need help in doing tasks such as bathing and dressing. Sleep problems and inconsistency are also common health issues. They may start to wander, so they should never be left alone. When the condition becomes severe, seniors usually require help with almost all their needs. They may be unable to talk and recognize their close family members. Patients may also need help to sit or stand.
Benefits of In-Home Services
This type of care offers patients a familiar environment that they know and understand. Personalized routines and schedules can help seniors avoid the anxiety and confusion of new surroundings. Being close to family members also helps seniors to enjoy the company of their loved ones whenever they want. While at home, the patient may be more willing to open up and build positive relationships with the helpers.
Services Caregivers Offer to Alzheimer's Patients
The types of services the senior receives depend on the severity of the condition. The most common types of services include companion services, personal services, homemaker services, and skilled care. For mild cases, the professional can help with tasks such as bathing, dressing, medication reminders, basic personal hygiene assistance, light housekeeping, laundry, and meal planning. If the case is severe, many services can be available 24-hours a day, and a family can make these arrangements with the agency. The patient can have two or three caregivers every day working in shifts to offer consistent Alzheimer's care.
Working with a Professional Caregiver
It is important for families first to identify the needs of their loved ones to ensure a patient gets the correct support. Giving a professional caregiver all the necessary tools and resources they need to attend to the senior is essential. Keeping the lines of communication open is important and helps to improve the relationship between the helper and the family. Solid communication also allows families to feel comfortable speaking up about the type of Alzheimer's care that they expect from a helper.

12 WordPress SEO Hacks to Boost Your Business Website Traffic

By

We all want websites that are search-engine friendly. But sometimes when you are busy it's easy to publish a new blog post and be off to the next thing on your to do list.
Over time, this can really hurt your SEO efforts. That's why I've put together this short hit list of things you can do to boost your WordPress SEO.
Schedule these tasks in your calendar to make your blog traffic soar!
1) Post New Stuff Regularly
Google has a bias towards fresh content. Part of Google's algorithm looks at how new the content is and gives preference to more recent results. So publishing original content on a regular basis is important.
Also size matters when it comes to content. Generally longer content ranks higher than shorter content. So strive to make your post at least 500 words.
2) Create a Keywords List
If SEO is a priority, then you'll want to develop a keyword list. This is basically a list of keywords and phrases that describes your products and services. These keywords should include words from search terms that are more likely to be used to find your offerings online.
Google has some incredible tools to make keyword research easy including Google Search, Google Suggest, Google Instant and Google Wonder Wheel.
Hint: if you want a really targeted keyword list, hire an SEO expert!
3) Install an SEO Plugin
This will allow you to set keyword-rich custom titles and Meta descriptions for your posts for search engines.
A couple of popular SEO plug-ins to consider are All in One SEO Pack and WordPress SEO by Yoast.
Again, this is something your web designer or an SEO professional can easily install for you.
4) Hand Submit to Search Engines
What good is a site if no one can find it? That's why getting listed in Google and the other popular search engines and directories is one of the most effective ways of getting free targeted traffic to your website.
You have probably seen lots of automated submission services where you pay a small fee for them to submit your site to hundreds of search engines. These services not only won't help - they can actually hurt you.
Almost all of these free directories never send an actual visitor to your website and getting links from them can hurt your ability to rank in the real search engines like Google and Bing.
The best practice is to manually submit your site to search engines yourself. WordPress makes this easy once you set up an account in Google, Bing and Yandex Webmaster Tools.
If unsure, just ask your webmaster or SEO Specialist to set up these accounts.
5) Add Tags to your Posts
WordPress, straight out of the box, comes ready to embrace search engines. The tags features is one of those SEO friendly features you should take advantage of.
Be sure to add relevant keyword-rich tags to every post you publish.
6) Leave Comments on Other Blogs
Start linking more to other people's posts on their blogs and encourage them to link back to you.
One search engine factor that Google considers is backlinking. A website that has more backlinks is considered more of an authority site and gets higher rankings.
7) Block Spam Comments
When people leave comments on your blog, it counts as content to Google. So if you have a website about DIY crafts and someone leaves 5 comments about "cheap enhancement pills' that ruins your keyword relevancy and hurts your rankings.
So blocking spam comments from posting to your blog will improve your SEO - as well as make your real blog readers happy.
8) Internal Linking
One easy way to get more traffic is to add internal links to your blog posts.
For example if you have an article on Overcoming Your Resistance to Blog Writing, then at the bottom of that article you can post links to "Other Related Articles You May Enjoy": 4 Content Marketing Trends for Business Owners in 2017 and other related articles. WordPress SEO by Yoast does this automatically for you as you can see at the bottom of this post.
9) Use Image Alt Tags
For each image you use in your post, ensure you add the Alt tag to help them rank better in image searches. This is another excellent place to put relevant keywords.
Google has an image search function that works in pretty much the exact same way as the webpage search with keywords and relevance. So adding Alt tags helps Google find and include your images when someone does an image search.
10) Tweak Blog Post Titles
If you quickly wrote titles to your blog posts before, take time to review them first before publishing.
Your blog post titles are vitally important to your SEO rankings so compare the keywords used to your keyword list and make your blog titles more keyword rich.
11) Add Social Media Sharing Buttons
When Google sees a blog article is getting a lot of posts and shares on social media, it boosts the ranking of that blog post.
So making it easy for readers to share your posts helps others Tweet and share your great content!
12) Update Your Theme
Not all WordPress themes are SEO Friendly and the free WordPress themes may be hurting your search engine rankings because of this.
Having a premium WordPress theme ensures your content will be indexed by the search engines, since the developers have taken special time to optimize every aspect in terms of both security and SEO.
It's smart to make sure your theme programming isn't bloated with inefficient code that slows down page load times. We find this a lot with purchased themes and that's why we only provide custom designed and built WordPress themes for our clients.

Choose Beneficial Fermented Foods

By

Many vegetables are grown in a fertile valley far away. Almost as soon as they are harvested, they are flash-frozen and transported on refrigerated trucks to a supermarket near you. You have a freezer at home, and the delivery of healthy nutritious vegetables from farm to consumer is completed easily. Refrigerated trucks keep fresh-picked vegetables viable long enough that your green grocer's shelves remain well-stocked throughout the year.
Go back just a few decades, and you will find that this was not the case. Winter produced very sparsely populated shelves in the green grocery section of the market. Go back just a few more decades and you will discover that people had to find creative ways to sustain themselves through harsh winters and on long journeys. For thousands of years, people have fermented foods to preserve them for when supplies of fresh foods were not available.
The Romans preserved cabbages with salt, and Genghis Khan fed his armies fermented cabbage to sustain them on their campaigns through Europe. This use of preserved, fermented foods was a common practice for travelers as a source of nutrients. As late as World War I, allied forces relied on fermented cabbage, or sauerkraut as we now know it, to supply nutrients to soldiers on the battlefields of Europe.
The process of fermentation helps to preserve the food for use many months later. Fermentation also generates many health benefits for the consumer. The essential nutrients and vitamins are preserved. Sugars are broken down so they are more easily absorbed with far less insulin or allergy reaction, in the case of lactose intolerance to dairy products. The process also generates enzymes that are essential to supporting the digestion of foods that we eat. Finally, they are natural probiotics, jam-packed with beneficial microorganisms.
A healthy gut, supported by a strong population of beneficial bacteria, serves as a powerful booster for your immune system. The digestive tract is where nutrients are extracted from food and absorbed by the body. Enzyme and microbial activity accelerates digestion and generates enzymes, vitamins and antioxidants that are essential to health. They also protect us from pathogens and flush out toxins from our bodies.
You can find a variety of ready-to-use fermented products at your local supermarket. They include yoghurt, which is fermented milk (usually cow's milk). The fermentation process breaks down the milk lactose to make it easier to digest and the yoghurt supplies billions of helpful bacteria. Be careful of brands with large amounts of sugar added, as that will create other problems. Another healthy fermented product from milk is kefir, a drink often found in the supermarket refrigerator.
Kombucha tea is another good source of enzymes and beneficial microbes. Kombucha is made from fermenting black tea. Other products you may find in the supermarket include kimchi, a Korean version of fermented cabbage and a mixture of other vegetables. Raw apple cider vinegar is also loaded with beneficial bacteria and has many different uses apart from supporting a healthy digestive system. You may find Japanese products like miso, and natto, both loaded with microbes and used in cooking soups, marinades and sauces.
If you feel adventurous, the processes for making your own fermented yoghurt, kefir, pickles and kimchi are relatively easy and they require no special equipment. Select healthy organic ingredients and you will be able to rely on the process for creating your own healthy, nutritious probiotic foods.

FRP: A Necessary and Practical Solution in Industries

In the recent times, the industrial sectors have seen an exceptional revolution. Almost all the reputed factories of the leading nations are effectually replacing the traditional materials with FRP. Fibre-reinforced plastic or fibreglass provides optimal performances and earn maximum revenues for the companies. A large number of public landscape structures such as, jetties, bridges, walkways and viewing platforms, could be made from this excellent building material. In the further discussion, we would discuss more about this material and its benefits over other conventional manufacturing elements.
More about Fibre-Reinforced Plastic
Fibre-Reinforced Plastic is a composite element, made from polymer matrix strengthened by fibres. Polymer could be vinyl ester, phenol formaldehyde resins or polyester thermosetting plastic and the reinforcing fibres could be carbon, glass, basalt, wood, paper or asbestos. These composite plastic is generally fabricated through the process of addition polymerization or step-growth polymerization. In this procedure, the above-mentioned fibres effectively enhance the stability and elasticity of the polymer. It is primarily used for producing handrails, grating, ladder rungs, beams, angles and a variety of pedestrian structures.
Benefits of Fibre-reinforced plastic over other Traditional Materials
• Fibre-reinforced plastic allows flexibility, in terms of design.
• Unlike the conventional elements, this material is quite light in weight. Hence, they could be positioned and installed easily.
• The gel coat, which covers FRP products are known to give a hard finish, hence, providing them with much resilience.
• While the other materials need a lot of preservation, fibre-reinforced plastic need much low-cost of maintenance.
• It could be used in all kinds of situation. FRP is able to endure high pressure as well as weight and extreme weather.
• It has the property of anti-corrosion, which means the products are not damaged, when subjected to oxidized circumstances.
• Fibre-reinforced plastic is resistant to heat, fire and harmful chemicals.
• It is non-conductive and has high di-electric ability.
Although all products made of fibreglass such as, pedestrian structures, cable instrumentation, cladding and roofing structural, tubes, angles, beams, etc. need little servicing; there are certain tips, which could successfully make FRP-products even more durable.
Maintenance Tips
• Fibreglass products need inspection. In this phase, the workers could find the damages and thus, build solutions for them.
• Waxing is an excellent way of keeping the products safe and secured. With time, structures become slippery and chances of accidents increases. However, waxing could keep surfaces clean and dry.
• Polishing removes the stains and blotches from the structures and preserves their glaze.
• Cleaning and washing the structures with mild detergent powders could remove the accumulated dirt and dust.
Following the above-mentioned tips, would allow the FRP products to last longer than ever.
